Hi! I’m Rob, an aspiring author and creator of Super Penguin. I live with my wife, Halley, and son, Parker, in Danville, Illinois. We also live with Luna, a corgi.
I’ve always been obsessed with fictional characters. Marvel’s Wolverine, Chewbacca and R2-D2 of Star Wars and many others. That obsession led to a love of telling stories and creating characters of my own. Super Penguin was started in the study hall of Danville High School. When I should have been doing my homework or studying for an exam, I instead doodled a silly comic strip starring Super Penguin that I’d share with my friends at the lunch table for laughs.
Years went by, but Super Penguin never left. He’d pop into my head at the most random of times. While sitting in college classes, I’d catch my self doodling. Or while day dreaming on vacation, the “what if” of writing a book would enter my mind. So with loads of encouragement from Halley and my parents, I’m pursuing that.
Beyond writing, I am a self-proclaimed nerd and love nerd culture. I love attending conventions, playing video games and every other Tuesday I meet up with friends to play table-top role-playing games. I collect things: autographs from sports and pop culture figures as well as bobble heads (and I’m sure more things that annoy my incredibly understanding wife)
Last, and certainly not least, I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus came to save me, you and everyone who believes in Him.
